While every child is unique and special and encounter problems with feelings or behaviors that cause disruption in their lives and the lives surrounding them. Young people often hide their difficulties dealing with stress, depression, anger, death, confusion, and self-doubt.
Adults can hurt, too. One in five Americans live with a mental health disorder and it is estimated that 2/3 of all people do not seek treatment due to fear of disclosure or rejection. Mental illness is a treatable disease.
Depression is the most common condition associated with suicide attempts. People who attempt suicide are often trying to get away from situations that seem impossible to deal with (e.g. physical illness, unemployment, or the death of a loved one).
